Tidal Impact - Day Five

One of the incredible things about our Tidal Impact experience has been how many connections we've been building to other organizations in the Moncton community. Each morning as we pray and then head out to serve our team leaves with excitement (despite being tired) about what God is doing!

Wednesday morning our teams continued to serve at Vacation Bible Camp, and at Harvest House. We also added two new ministries. Some of our students and leaders went to the play ground we cleaned on Tuesday and lead a games / crafts / Bible story program in the park. Others went to Hope Garden, the giant vegetable garden that summer interns of the West End Food Bank look after. The gardening team spent their morning weeding and picking rocks. While we will never see or know the hundreds of families who will be blessed by fresh produce from this garden, we know that God does! It's an honour to serve Him and then.

In the afternoon on Wednesday we travelled to Moncton Wesleyan for Dive Deeper. This is a new addition to Tidal Impact this year. Rather than just send students out to serve TI has added training. We attended sessions on praying for our friends, and on how to talk about our faith in Jesus with our friends. High quality training!

Finally, tonight our supper was serve to us as we left MW courteously of Acadia Divinity College. After we quickly ate pizza we headed off to our city wide food drive! Our three churches covered a huge section of Moncton and collected 6 vehicle loads of food! It will all be weighed on Thursday so I'll post a total later. Oh, and did I mention that we did the food food drive in the pouring rain?

We ended our day at Dairy Queen in Riverview with the combined team from our three churches. It was fantastic to see our leaders and students share memories over ice cream. They really are one team niece and they've made many memories of serving God together! The volume at DQ was high and the laughter loud!

Please continue to pray for us all. We have two more full days of serving, playing, praying and worshipping here before we head home.
