Tidal Impact - Day One

The day has finally come and we have arrived in Moncton for Tidal Impact! #TI2015 is the bi-annual mission trip that our Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches organizes and hosts in Atlantic Canada. Every two years churches converge in two locations and make an impact in those areas by loving God and loving others.

For the next eight days students [Lee, Reyer, Caleb, Carson, Domi, Allie & Kathryn] and leaders [Pastor Jon & Naomi] will ne serving God alongside students and leaders from Shediac Bay Baptist Church and Journey Church. We will be involved in all kinds of different serving ministries in an around the two Journey Church locations.

At the end of each day I'll post a blog update and a few photos from the day on this blog so that you can follow what we are doing and so that you can pray specifically for us. Today I have just one photo to share, it was our travel day.

Just one final comment for those of you who have been around NMBC for a while: One of the leaders who is serving with the Journey Church team is the father of one of the students. His name is Nathan MacDonald. Here's where things get interesting: back in the mid-1990s Nathan was the primary leader of the youth group at New Minas Baptist Church! I'm staying at Nathan's home this week, so as you can imagine, we spent an hour this evening comparing names of people he remembered and those who still attend NMBC! It's a small world, the Christian world in Atlantic Canada, and its exciting to see the impact that God's people have where he takes them!

Continue praying for us. Tomorrow we attend Journey Church's two locations in the morning, our team are serving in children's ministry and in the service, and I'm preaching.
