Warm-up. What was the best part of your summer?

Read 2 Kings 19 (Pg# 303). Ask God to bless your study.

  1. What were some of the ways that Hezekiah brought Judah back to worshipping God alone? (18:4) A spiritual idol is anything that you must have besides God in order for life to have any significance or meaning. Are there any idols that God is speaking to you about removing in your life?

  2. How did Hezekiah compare to King David? (18:3) Who was Hezekiah’s Goliath? What giants are intimidating your faith? How did God reward Hezekiah for his trust? (18:7-8) Can you say that the Lord is with you? Why or why not? Read and discuss Matthew 10:32-33; 28:20 and Hebrews 13:5.

  3. Hezekiah spread his need out before the Lord (19:14). What need in your life should you spread before the Lord now? Share about a time when you desperately prayed and trusted like this.

  4. In which parts of the TRUST prayer acronym are you strongest and weakest and why? How will you improve?

  5. How did God promise to deal with the arrogance of the Assyrian king? (19:27-28) How have you seen God turn the table on evil? What can you do this week to remind yourself and trust more that God is above all things and threats in your life?

God is like no other "gods" of this world. As you close in prayer briefly share qualities of the Almighty that will fuel your prayers and praise of Him all this week.
