Warm-up. Will you watch the eclipse? Why or why not?

Read:2 Kings 6:1-7 Ask God to bless your study.

1. What is the most amazing part of the story of the floating axe head for you? What did you think of the miraculous physics and the mercy shown to an unnamed prophet?

2. When have you felt like you have lost your spiritual edge? What has caused you to lose your joy and strength in the Lord? More importantly, how did God bring recovery and resharpening in your life?

3.Read Proverbs 27:17 and Ecclesiastes 10:10. Discuss how we can maintain and sharpen the tools and resources that God has loaned us so that we can be effective in his kingdom.

4. Are there any needs today that a person might consider too small to ask of God?

5. How might the story of a floating axe head offer comfort to someone in need of assurance that God cares?
