"And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life." 1 John 5:20

Join us this Sunday morning onsite at 9:15 & 11:00 am, and online at 11:00 am, as Pastor Jon shares Part 1 of our new Fall Sermon Series in the Book of Hebrews. This Sunday, we'll cover Hebrews 1:1-3.

Introduction: The book of Hebrews asks us an important question: Are we listening? From the beginning, God has been speaking... through creation, through His prophets, through His Word, and through the story of His people. Each voice, promise, sacrifice, priest, and covenant points beyond itself toward Jesus. Hebrews gathers all of those pieces together and shows us the full picture: Jesus is the greatest. He is the greater revelation, the greater priest, the greater sacrifice, and the greater hope. Because God has spoken so clearly through His Son, Hebrews repeatedly calls us to pay attention, hold fast, draw near, and keep following Jesus without drifting away.

Beginning in September, our regular church office hours will be Monday–Thursday from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM. The office will be closed on Fridays, but appointments can be arranged when needed. To make an appointment, please call 902-681-7683 or email office@nmbc.ca

Men’s Ministry Prayer Night / Tuesday, September 22 at 7:00 p.m., Multipurpose Room - Before we officially launch our Men’s Ministry programming, we want to begin with prayer.  All men of NMBC are invited to join us for an evening of prayer and vision. We’ll share some of the plans taking shape for Men’s Ministry and introduce the four key areas that will guide our ministry together.  Most importantly, we will pray over these areas, the men of our church, and the ministry God is calling us to build. Whether you are interested in becoming involved or simply want to pray alongside other men, we would love to have you join us as we lay a strong spiritual foundation for what is ahead.

MEN’S TRIVIA NIGHT - TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 @ 7:00 PM - We’re kicking off Men’s Ministry at NMBC with a Men’s Trivia Night! This will be our first program night of the fall and a great opportunity to connect, laugh, compete, and enjoy some fellowship together.  Come ready to team up and put your trivia knowledge to the test as we compete for bragging rights and trivia glory!

Throughout the evening, we’ll also introduce what’s coming this year through Men’s Ministry, including our upcoming Bible Study, fellowship nights, serving opportunities, and equipping workshops.  BRING YOUR FAVOURITE SNACK OR FINGER FOOD TO SHARE! Think tailgate party style - bring something you enjoy, and we’ll put it all together for everyone to share throughout the night.

This night is open to all the men of NMBC [including young adults who are post-high school], and it’s a great event to invite a friend. Come hungry, bring a friend, and bring your A-game!

Photography TEAM at NMBC
Throughout the year, many meaningful moments happen in the life of our church—baptisms, special events, ministry gatherings, fellowship, serving, worship, and much more. We would love to form an NMBC Photography Team to help capture and celebrate these moments.
You do not need to be a professional photographer or own a camera to participate. A camera is helpful, but a smartphone and a willingness to learn are more than enough! We will provide training on how to capture natural, meaningful photographs while respecting people and the ministry setting.

Team members could serve occasionally throughout the year based on their availability. The photos collected will help us celebrate what God is doing, share the story of NMBC, and strengthen our church communications.

If you enjoy photography—or would simply like to learn more—we would love to hear from you. Please email Pastor Al (al.kirkbride@nmbc.ca) to express your interest.

Motorcycle Group Weekly Ride - Join in for a weekly ride every Wednesday evening throughout the summer. We meet in the church parking lot at 6:00pm for a 6:30 start. All riders are welcome to come and enjoy a scenic ride in the Valley! For more info contact Reid Sanford at (902)-300-9270, or Tim Dimock at (902) 670-2877.

Our NURSERY [ages 0-2] is available and staffed with caring volunteers during our 915am service each Sunday. The nursery is unstaffed and available for parents and babies during our 1100am service. Our SPROUTS [ages 2-5] program is available during our Sunday morning services each week. All children begin in the main worship service with their families and are dismissed to NMBC Kids a few minutes into the service, where their parents register them in the cafe. The ORCHARD [grades P-5] programs are available during our Sunday morning services each week. All children begin in the main worship service with their families and are dismissed to NMBC Kids a few minutes into the service, where their parents register them in the cafe.

In Sprouts and The Orchard, our children follow a three-year curriculum called One Big Story, written at NMBC. Each year, we journey through the Bible from beginning to end, helping kids see that Scripture is not just a collection of separate stories, but one big story of God’s rescue, redemption, and love. Each Sunday, all the children learn the same Bible story in an age-appropriate way and discover how it connects to the larger story and how "every story points to Jesus!"

September 2026 marks the start of the sixteenth year of One Big Story at NMBC. We are incredibly thankful for the privilege of helping children know the Bible, understand how its stories fit together, and grow up seeing Jesus at the centre of it all. Our prayer is that these foundations will stay with them for the rest of their lives. You can learn more about One Big Story and see the 2026-27 teaching plan here: https://www.nmbc.ca/onebigstory

The Grove meets at New Minas Baptist Church every Wednesday night from 6:30-8:00 pm. Our first night for The Grove this fall will be Wednesday, September 23! All kids in grades 1-5 are invited! Each week is a fun mix of large-group Bible teaching, small-group communities, and fun games! For more info, contact Pastor Jon Dixon at jon.dixon@nmbc.ca

A Grove is "a small orchard or stand of fruit-bearing trees." This is the perfect definition for what our Wednesday night kids program creates! Children who are in grades 1-5 are invited every week to be a part of The Grove. Our goal is to create a community where kids know they are loved, have friends, are supported, and where the roots of their faith in Jesus grow deep!
