One Big Story
In Sprouts and The Orchard, our children journey through a three-year curriculum written right here at NMBC called One Big Story. Each year, we travel through the Bible from beginning to end, helping children discover that the Bible isn’t simply a collection of separate stories it is one big story of God’s rescue, redemption, and love.
Each week, all of our children learn the same Bible story in an age-appropriate way. As we move through Scripture, we help them see how every person, promise, event, and part of the Bible fits into the larger story God is telling and ultimately points us to Jesus.
Our goal is for children to grow up knowing the whole story of the Bible: how God created us, how sin entered the world, how God worked through His people and kept His promises, and how everything finds its fulfillment in Jesus... His life, death, resurrection, and the new creation still to come.
September 2026 marks the start of the sixteenth year of One Big Story at NMBC. That means an entire generation of children has grown up opening the Bible together, hearing its stories, asking questions, discovering how Scripture connects, and learning that Jesus is at its centre. We are incredibly thankful for every opportunity God gives us to share His Word with children and to help build a foundation of faith that we pray will remain with them for the rest of their lives.
