Small Group Discussion Questions – “Our Story”

1. Our Story vs. My Story

Question: What does it mean that “Our Story is bigger than my/your story”?

Discussion Points:

  • How do we naturally focus on our individual story?

  • What changes when we see ourselves as part of God’s bigger story?

2. Culture & Shared Values

Question: Culture = Shared Values.” What values shape our church culture right now?

Discussion Points:

  • What values are clearly visible?

3. Passing Faith to the Next Generation

Question: Read Deuteronomy 4:9 and Psalm 78:1–4. What responsibility do we have in passing on God’s story?

Discussion Points:

  • What are we called to remember and teach?

  • Who are the “next generation” in your life?

  • What practical ways can we pass on faith stories?

4. Our Story & Mission

Question: How does “Our story is how Jesus will reach the world” change the way we think about church?

Discussion Points:

  • From attendance → participation

  • From individual faith → shared mission

  • How unity impacts witness

5. Ambassadors of Reconciliation

Question: Read 2 Corinthians 5:16–21. What does it mean to be an ambassador for Christ?

  • God making His appeal through us

  • Living differently (“new creation” mindset)

  • Who is God calling you to reach right now?
