Warm-up. What is hardest about sharing your faith?

Read: Matthew 28:16-20. Ask God to bless your study.

1. Jesus said he would make his followers ‘fishers’ (Matt 4:19). Explain the idea that the Great Commission is for all Christians.

2. How important is baptism to making disciples? Is it optional?

3. What is the result of aiming for new births but not following up with teaching Christ’s commands? Describe the church’s role in this process.

4. Why is prayer crucial in making disciples? How important is ‘joy’ in our mission to make disciples and where do we find it?

5. Explain the following: The Great Commission (Matt 28:19-20) goes hand in hand with the Great Commandment (Mark 12:30)?

6. On a day-to-day basis, what does it mean to depend on Jesus’ presence as you carry out the Great Commission?

7. What characteristics would you expect to find in a church that is being faithful to the Great Commission?

8. Where, in obedience to the Great Commission, would you most like Jesus to help you grow in your faith this week?
