Join the Peters’ family on Sunday November 16 at 6:30pm for our book launch night at New Minas Baptist Church. Our first book is in print! It was beautifully printed by Gaspereau Press and we’re excited to share it with the congregation. It chronicles our 3-month road trip across the USA through poetry and letters. Our trailer was named after St. Patrick’s Prayer of Protection, also known as “The Lorica." It will be an evening of stories, songs, photos, and of course, poetry. We will have copies of our book available at cost. We look forward to seeing you there. Sincerely, Avery, Zak, Llewyn, and Junia Peters.

ANNUAL FALL BUDGET MEETING - Tuesday, November 18 at 6:30pm in our main sanctuary at NMBC. It will be a HYBRID meeting, both in person in the sanctuary as well as online via Zoom. Copies of the proposed budget will be available this Sunday, November 9th at the Welcome Desk.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD is a hands-on way for people to bless children in the developing world by filling shoeboxes with toys, hygiene items, and school supplies. At NMBC, we collect boxes, and OCC distributes them in the name of Jesus Christ to children living in difficult situations. All children who receive a shoebox are also invited to attend The Greatest Journey, a follow-up discipleship program taught by local churches. [www.samaritanspurse.ca/the-greatest-journey].

Shoeboxes will be available on Sundays at the Connections Centre or throughout the week at the church office. Full boxes need to be returned by Sunday, November 16. For more info, Contact Pastor Jon Dixon [jon.dixon@nmbc.ca or 902-670-3387].

Join us for COMMON ROOM on Monday November 24 from 6-9:15pm in the NMBC External Building. We will start with fellowship and eating together (please remember to bring a packed dinner). Beverages and snacks will be provided by the host. Bring your bible, painting, your knitting, your journal, your writing project, a book you are studying, or anything that can be done quietly in a common space. This is an opportunity to set aside significant time to study or create, in the company of like-minded souls doing the same.

Schedule:

  • 6pm: Dinner together (bring your own)

  • 6:45pm: Prayer for our work

  • 7pm - 9pm: Quiet time for work and study

  • 9pm: Evening Prayer to transition us back

You’ll laugh, you might tear up, and you’ll leave reminded that Jesus came for everyone. Popcorn and refreshments provided.
