NMBC Enews - 2025-10-10

“We ought always to give thanks to God for you... as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing.” 2 Thessalonians 1:3 ‭

HAPPY THANKSGIVING WEEKEND!

REDEEMING LOVE IN THE STORY OF RUTH - We are in a deep dive into the Book of Ruth—a short book with a rich theology. JOIN us this SUNDAY morning onsite at 9:15 & 11:00 and online at 11:00 as Pastor Daniel shares Part Two in the Ruth series entitled, "God's Bountiful Blessings."

REDEEMING LOVE IN THE STORY OF RUTH - SMALL GROUP COLLECTIVE begins TONIGHT at 6:45pm. This is a great time to connect with a small group as we will together unpack themes like loyalty, redemption, inclusion, providence and hope. We will meet in the rooms off the café. To learn more about this or other small-group options, please connect with Pastor Al (al.kirkbride@nmbc.ca).

As we contemplate the Story of Ruth in the sermon series we encourage you to take time to creatively reflect through art. If you feel called to share, we are taking new submissions for the art corner to collect everyone’s expressions (painting, sculpture, knitting, sewing, woodwork, poetry, etc.). What you make is not only valuable as it gives you the opportunity to understand the teaching more deeply, but it is a blessings to others who can glean from the fruit of your own work. Please connect with Avery Peters (avery.peters@gmail.comwhen you are ready and she will put together a name and information card to go with the piece you share. Please share your contributions through the month of October and we will keep them on display through the fall.

SPECIAL THANKSGIVING OFFERING: NMBC is a warm and inviting church that believes in the importance of good fellowship events. Some of our folding tables and chairs are in need of being replaced. An 8' solid folding table is approximately $300.00. Good chairs are about $50 - 60.00 each. It would be a great blessing to raise $3,500 to $5,000.00 to go towards some new tables and chairs. Our prayer and aim in replacing some tables and chairs is to enhance our ability to easily set up and accommodate gatherings that deepen our fellowship and friendships here at New Minas Baptist Church. Thank you for your gifts towards this initiative.

During this HARVEST MONTH we love to bless and support our community.  It is our practice in October to collect donations of non-perishable food items for the Fundy Interchurch Food Bank. So let's bring in lots of food donations that we will sort and deliver to the food bank along with donations from the food drive over Challenge weekend. Please place your food items in and around our fall display in the lobby.  Thank you for your participation in this important ministry!
