New Elective - Casket Empty for Young Adults and Adults, starting September 14 during the first service. Building on the strength of our high school & early young adult elective, brand new this year, this new group will follow a revised version of "Casket Empty" - a journey through the whole Bible, essential theology, and apologetics.

Casket Empty is an acronym that helps you learn the entire Bible. CASKET represents six periods in the Old Testament: Creation, Abraham, Sinai, Kings, Exile, and Temple. EMPTY represents five periods in the New Testament: Expectations, Messiah, Pentecost, Teachings, and Yet-to-come. CASKET EMPTY points to the death and resurrection of Jesus as the center of God’s plan of redemption. This group will meet in the external building. Questions? Contact Pastor Al [al.kirkbride@nmbc.ca] or Pastor Jon [jon.dixon@nmbc.ca].

Join us at New Minas Baptist Church on Tuesday September 9 at 12pm for an information gathering for the Homeschool Collective. Please bring your own packed lunch for yourself and your kids. We will meet behind the church in the park for a picnic lunch and then move inside the church if it rains.

We would love to get a sense of how to support each other in the homeschooling journey and to create a community. The church has a beautiful classroom space that we can use and we would love to continue the successful format of homeschool involvement started through Harvest Christian Academy where homeschoolers would join in from 12-3pm for lunch as a group, study of a particular subject, and also play in the park and forest behind the church.

The vision is that we will form a few groups of 3-4 families to study selected subjects (like science) together and use the classroom at the back of the church. Each group will have the opportunity to book the classroom for a regular time per week. Then once per month all of the families will gather for presentation Fridays and can also have chapel together. The idea is to start small and informally and each group will be self directed. One other important note is that all parents will have to ensure their criminal record checks and child abuse register are up to date as that is a requirement of using the church space when supervising each others’ children. Please contact Avery Peters for more details: avery.peters@gmail.com.

Men's Basketball at NSCC Kingstec Campus, Fridays 5:45pm to 7:45pm.  Open to guys who are looking for some exercise and fellowship.  We have a word of prayer, and lots of running up and down the courts.  Come for a great time of pickup games of basketball.  Indoor sneakers only, and bring your own water bottle.  For more infomation connect with Taylor Doucette or Pascal Lahoud.
