Dear New Minas Baptist Church,

We want to share with you, with both gratitude and sadness, that Harvest Christian Academy will not be operating for the 2025–2026 school year. When we opened in the fall of 2022, it was as a three-year pilot program to explore the viability of a full-time Christian elementary school in our community.

Over these three years, we have seen our students grow academically, spiritually, and in character. We’re so grateful for the chance to blend learning with faith and witness God at work in our students' lives.

After much prayer and reflection, the Board has concluded that current enrollment does not allow for the school to continue beyond this pilot phase. Harvest Christian Academy will officially conclude operations on August 31, 2025.

Thank you for your faithful prayers, encouragement, and generous financial support. This ministry was possible because of your partnership. We praise God for all He has done through this season.

Join us for the Summer Edition of COMMON ROOM on Tuesday August 12 from 6-9:30pm. During the summer, people's schedules change quite a bit, so this time the Common Room will take place on a weekday evening. The structure will be similar. We will start with fellowship and eating together (please remember to bring a dinner), and then will pray together before and after we start our work. Beverages and snacks will be provided by the host. Bring your bible, painting, your knitting, your journal, your writing project, a book you are studying, or anything that can be done quietly in a common space. This is not an event. It is an opportunity to set aside a day (or a significant portion of one) for study or creating, in the company of likeminded souls doing the same.

6pm: Dinner together (bring your own) 
6:45pm: Prayer for our work 
7pm - 9:15pm: Quiet time for work and study 
9:15pm: Evening Prayer to transition us back

OASIS DELEGATES - Our Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada OASIS Conference is August 7-9 at Acadia University in Wolfville, NS. SUNDAY MORNINGS for KIDS! We are excited to offer engaging ministries for kids every Sunday morning!

  • Our NURSERY [age 0-2] is available for parents and babies during our 10:00am service.

  • Our SPROUTS [age 2-5] and THE ORCHARD [grades P-5] programs are available during our Sunday morning service. All children ages 2 - grade 5 begin in the main worship service with their families during the service and are dismissed from the service to NMBC Kids where they are registered in the cafe.

NMBC KIDS - Serve God with Kids This Summer at New Minas Baptist Church! We are excited about all the opportunities to serve God by loving kids and pointing them to Jesus! Our annual Vacation Bible Camp is July 28-31, and our regular Nursery [age 0-2], Sprouts [age 2-5], and Orchard [grades P-5] are every Sunday morning! 

We need many volunteers to make all of these exciting programs work! We need 6-8 adults and 6-8 teenagers to volunteer each Sunday. Context Pastor Jon (jon.dixon@nmbc.ca or 902-670-3387) right away to say you’d love to serve! 

Join us at VACATION BIBLE CAMP for a fantastic mix of large group celebrations, Bible storytelling, & fantastic fun activities!

CANADIAN BAPTIST MINISTRIES - UKRAINE (CBM is our international partner in missions and outreach). SEND-A-KID to CAMP FUND is our sponsorship fund at NMBC to provide bursary support to families of kids & youth who want to attend Christian camps in the summer. For many families, camp is expensive, and we want to offer support so that more children and youth can encounter Jesus and have life-changing camp experiences! All money donated to the fund will go to applicants who need support to pay for camp registrations. The priority in dispersing funds will be children or youth wanting to attend Kingswood Camp. FUNDY FOOD BANK - Thank you for your continued partnership with the food bank as they serve over 100 families each week! Items needed on a regular basis include: egg cartons, pasta, pasta sauce, canned meats, canned baked beans, canned fruit, apple juice, sugar, cereal, canned vegetables and school lunch items. Please also consider a monetary donation to assist this vital area ministry. Your food and monetary donations can be dropped off at our church office, Mon-Fri 9:00am - 12:00pm, or at the Connections Centre in the lobby on Sunday mornings. THE NEW MINAS SUNRISE ROTARY CLUB "Little Pantries Project" is located in our NMBC front garden. Please consider dropping off dry good food staples and placing them in the box. PLEASE do not place perishable and/or liquid items in the pantry during the colder months. Folks in our neighbourhood who are in need appreciate your generosity. Thanks for your support! It really is the little things that we all do that make our community stronger.
