We are excited about our 2024 NMBC Summer Camps for Kids! During most weeks, July and August, we have exciting camp opportunities for kids! All of our Summer Camps for Kids will give kids fun experiences as well as dynamic Bible-based devotions and prayer times!

NEW This summer we are adding two new camp options! During the week of July 22-26 we will have a morning Drama Camp [from 9am - 12pm] and an afternoon Sports Camp [from 100-430pm].

DATES for SUMMER 2024

• SPORTS CAMP ONE: July 2-5, daily from 900am - 1200pm. Note: This is a shorter week due to the Canada Day holiday.

  • Cost for this week is $28 / camper.

  • Location is New Minas Elementary School.

  • Space is limited to 30 campers.

• SPORTS CAMP TWO: July 8-12, daily from 900am - 1200pm.

  • Cost for this week is $35 / camper.

  • Location is Evangeline Middle School.

SPORTS CAMPS DETAILS

• Each week our Sports Camps include exciting competitions, fun fitness, and amazing games! Every camper will have fun while being encouraged to grow physically, socially, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

• Times: 900am - 1200pm daily [July 22-26 is 100pm - 430pm].

• Location: Sports Camps will be held in New Minas. Locations are above in the camp listings.

• Ages: Children in grades 1-5 [2023-24 school year].

• What to Bring: Come dressed in clothes suited for indoor sports. Bring indoor gym shoes, a water bottle and snacks. We’ll have apples to share with everyone each day.

DRAMA CAMP DETAILS

• Our new Drama Camp will feature fun interactive drama-based games and a fun end-of-week presentation by children for their parents!

• Times: 900am - 1200pm daily

• Location: New Minas Baptist Church

• Ages: Children in grades 1-5 [2023-24 school year].

• What to Bring: Come dressed in comfortable clothing and with an awareness that some days we may be painting drama sets. Bring indoor gym shoes, a water bottle and snacks. We’ll have apples to share with everyone each day.

• Children are considered registered when we have received both their registration form and payment.

  • You can pay by cash, or cheque [payable to New Minas Baptist Church] at our church office. Please add Summer Camps and camper’s name to the cheque memo line.

  • You can pay online by credit card at https://www.nmbc.ca/giving [choose Summer Camps for Kids from the menu].

  • You can pay by etransfer to finance@nmbc.ca [Please write Summer Camps and your child’s name in the message.]

• Who can participate? 

  • Our Summer Camps for Kids are open to children who were in grades 1-5 in the 2023-24 school year.

• Does my child need to have any experience for sports camps?

  • These camp is for both experienced and inexperienced players. It is perfect for children who have never played sports and will challenge experienced players to improve their skills while having tons of fun.  

• What sports will you be playing at sports camp?

  • Each day will be a different sport! We will have sports like floor hockey, soccer, basketball, volleyball, handball, badminton, football, and more.

• Does my child need prior experience for the drama camp?

  • This camp is for both experienced and inexperienced children. We will play drama games, and work on props, sets, and a bible-based drama experience together.

• How do I register my child?

• What is the cost?

  • $35 per child per camp. [$28 for Sports Camp week one on July 2-5.] We will provide apples each day. Children are encouraged to bring water bottles, and any other snacks desired. Reminder to be nut-free.

• Is there a discount for multiple children from the same family or for children attending multiple camps during the summer?

  • No there is not. We choose the costs of camps based on the expenses to hold them. If you need financial support, there are some bursary funds available. See below.

• Are bursaries available?

• Will my child be going outside and therefore need sunscreen?

  • When the weather is nice, but not overly hot, we may go outside for our Bible story and small group times, which may be 20-30 minutes long mid-morning.

• What if it rains on a camp day?

  • Camp will run rain or shine.
