  1. Why do you think a collection of scriptures (i.e., an Old Testament “mixtape”) was a powerful way to make a point? Specifically, how is the collection of scriptures in Hebrews 1 & 2 a powerful way to assert who Jesus is? 

  2. What did you learn about angels in ancient Judaism and Christianity? What are the dangers of putting too much emphasis on angels and their roles? How does Jesus’ status and ministry compare to the angels? 

  3. How does the idea of Jesus being “perfected” sit with you? How is Jesus being made perfect “through sufferings” a hopeful thing? How does Jesus’ humanity make him more approachable as our high priest? 

  4. What are worries, concerns, temptations, frustrations, etc., you/we can bring to Jesus as your/our high priest?

  5. What are some specific ways you/we can emulate Jesus’ priestly solidarity with us by standing in solidarity with others?
