Warm-up. What’s your all-time favourite song?
Read: Ecclesiastes 3. Pray God helps your study.
1. What are some ways our lives mirror the times in vv 2-8?
2. What are the negatives and positives of vv 9-15?
3. In what ways do you find the seasons of your life comforting? In what ways are they concerning?
4. Do you feel that time is moving too fast or too slow? Why? How could you have a wiser perspective on your time?
5. Notice how the principle of God’s ‘appointed time’ figured in the life of Jesus (Gal. 4:4; John 7:1-9; 7:25-31; 1 Cor. 4:5).
6. How does God’s timing apply to our salvation (Ps. 31:15; Mark 1:15; Rom. 5:6)?
7. How can the fact that Christ experienced the same frustrations we feel help us deal with difficulties in our lives?
8. How does knowing that God has a purposeful plan in the seasons of of life help you enjoy life now? What are some things you need to enjoy more deeply in light of that reality?
