Reflection & Discussion

Warm-up. What is something totally unique about you? Read Psalm 139. Ask God to bless your study & fellowship.

1. How did David describe God’s knowledge of him (Psalm 139:1-6)?

2. Why did David feel such knowledge was too lofty for him to understand (Psalm 139:6)? How do you feel about such knowledge?

3. How do vv. 8-12 depict God’s omnipresence? Why did God know David so well (Psalm 139:13-15)?

4. What does this psalm teach us about God’s character?

5. What do vv. 13-18 teach us about human life?

6. What set David apart from God’s adversaries (Psalm 139:19-22)? Why did David want the Lord to examine his heart (Psalm 139:23-24)?

7. What can you learn about yourself from this psalm? How does this psalm motivate you to praise the Lord? In what area of your life do you desire God’s leading?
