NATIVITY PROPS NEEDED - Our Live Nativity Team is looking for the following items to use as props: baskets, crates, apple ladders, pottery, clay pots, candles, candle holders, battery operated candles and tea lights, lanterns, old fishing net, oars, buoys, old masonry tools, mortar and pestels, and lentils/beans.  If you have any of these items that you would be willing to lend our Nativity Team, please contact Brian & Karen Morrison (bkdkmorri@gmail.com).

WILD (WOMEN INTO LIVING DEEPLY) - This Monday, November 27, 7-8:30pm at the church.  We will be having our annual work night for the Live Nativity. This year we will be making Christmas ornaments that will help convey the gospel story. These ornaments will be handed out to those who attend the Live Nativity. 1st SATURDAY MEN’S FELLOWSHIP - Our monthly men’s fellowship event will be held Saturday, Dec 2 at 8am. Our special speaker will be Kim Thomson, who will address the 5-W's (who, what, where, when, why) and how of his "Faith" walk in Christ.  We will gather in the Multipurpose Room.  Following his message, we will meet, greet, and eat at the Lion’s Club Breakfast next door at the Louis Millett Complex.

NOTICE of CHURCH LICENSE to MINISTER candidate, Lori Noseworthy, is studying at Acadia Divinity College and is on her journey toward ordination.

INN FROM THE COLD - The new season of Inn From the Cold begins November 6.  NMBC will be supplying emergency shelter (in partnership with Open Arms and local policing services) on Monday nights during our colder months.  You can support this ministry by:
    •    donating $5.00 tim cards that will provide our guests a hot breakfast;
    •    signing up to provide a hot meal and/or snacks for guests
    •    or by becoming an evening or overnight host for guests.

FILL THE PILL FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN - For those participating in the Hadassa House “Fill the Pill” fundraiser, toonie bottles will be collected at the beginning of December.  Once filled, simply write your contact information on the label and return the bottle to NMBC.

FOOD BANK SUNDAY is the last Sunday of the month. The Food Bank donation box is located at the Connections Centre. Envelopes for monetary donations are available at Welcome Centre. Cheques can be made out to "Fundy Interchurch Food Bank”.

THE OCTOBER BUSINESS MEETING was a good meeting but we were just shy of a quorum. As a result, we were unable to pass our 2018 budget and slate of candidates for various ministries. These items will be brought forward again at our February 2018 business meeting. LOST & FOUND - Our lost & found collection is located under the coat rack outside the sanctuary/across from the washrooms. Items not claimed by November 30th will be donated to charity.  Dishes left at the church following last Sunday’s potluck can be found at the Connections Centre.


TRANSFORMING THE CULTURE OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN - You are invited to a presentation by Bruce Dienes, PH.D. on November 25th, 7pm @ Third Horton Baptist Church (Canaan).  This interactive presentation will look at strategies to engage men as allies in creating a culture that will no longer tolerate violence against women and girls.  Speaker Bruce Dienes teaches courses in Community Psychology and in Masculinities at Mount Saint Vincent University and works with local community organizations teaching peer counselling and group facilitation, as well as managing projects designed to reduce gambling harms and prevent gender-based violence.
